I really like metal. So when I heard that Chimaira were coming to town, I got more than a little excited. I'm not the biggest fan of theirs, but I'd seen them open for All That Remains a year ago and they nearly outshined their headliners with a third of the stage time! Bearing all that in mind, I knew I needed to do something brutal for their poster.

So, after doing a bit of research (thank you, Wikipedia), I found that they took their name from the Greek Monster Chimera, which is (as Wikipedia describes it) a lioness with the tail of a snake and the head of a goat protruding out of its back. It is a transmogrified monster with a bad attitude. But since I thought just drawing that wouldn't be metal enough, I combined that with the idea of a serial killer. And this is what came out the other end.

A naked man with a carving knife who sprouted a demonic goat-head which then proceeded to possess him before cutting off his own head.

I like it.
