but i enjoy the parallel imagery, where man stands in the middle of opposing images, and his distress upon being in such a situation translates quite nicely. the rain effect unifies the piece, and the simplicity of the cross presents an entirely different question of, why is such a complicated and well-formed being succumbing to a simple, barren shape?
sorry, i'm terrible at critique. the poem is also quite effective, and that is where i end my droning.
