I love Mindless Self Indulgence.

As this past week was the one before Spring Break, I was incredibly busy and this poster turned into another rush job. I'm not satisfied with it as anyone who has experienced an MSI show can attest to the fact that this barely brushes the essence of the band or their live show.

Still, I tried a few new things with this poster. Those who have followed me through my little gig poster career will notice that I've finally started to lay out type differently. I've also tried to get more border interaction as I did with the Girl Talk poster, though this time trying not to rip off Mucha (as obviously). Also, added more gradients and layer modes for giggles.

As I said, this isn't nearly as twisted or retardedly awesome as the band is, so I'm not that happy with it. But they'll be back in another few months. And they'll probably play Newport again.

I think it'd be pretty hard to visually match up the bizarreness of an MSI performance.

MSI rocks, and this poster totally works! Did you at least get to go see them? Congrats on the gig and good job on the art. I do like the way you laid out the text on this one.

If you do, dress lightly, bring earplugs and prepare for crowd pressure. Jimmy can turn crowds into pulsing tidal waves.
